Every job application in TalentUnveiled follows a structured pipeline — from initial submission through screening, interview, and final evaluation. This page explains each stage and what you can expect to see along the way.

Pipeline Overview

Applications move through the following stages: Applied → Screened → Interviewed → Shortlisted → Hired / Rejected Not every application passes through every stage. Candidates can be rejected at any point, and some stages (like CV evaluation or AI interview) are optional depending on your job posting configuration. You’ll see these stages as columns in the Kanban board and as steps in the status stepper on each application’s detail page.

Application Statuses

Application Sources

Applications can enter the system through several channels:

Pre-Screening

When a job posting has screening questions configured, candidates answer them as part of the application process. Screening helps filter candidates early, before investing time in interviews.

Question Types

Knockout Criteria

Each question can have knockout rules that automatically flag disqualifying answers. For example, a question like “Do you have a valid driver’s license?” can be configured to knock out candidates who answer “No.” You can set rules like “must equal Yes,” “must be greater than 3,” or “must not contain a specific value” — giving you flexible control over which answers are acceptable. After screening completes, you’ll see how many flagged answers a candidate has. If the count is zero, the candidate passed all screening criteria.

CV Evaluation

When a candidate uploads a CV (resume), TalentUnveiled automatically extracts structured data and runs an AI-powered evaluation against the job’s criteria.

How It Works

  1. Upload — A PDF is uploaded via the portal (or by the candidate during their application)
  2. Extraction — Text and structured fields (work experience, education, skills) are extracted automatically
  3. Evaluation — The CV is scored against your configured criteria on a 0–5 scale
Processing happens in the background. The application page updates automatically once the evaluation is ready.

What You’ll See

Once the evaluation completes, you’ll see:
  • Overall Score — An aggregate score from 0 to 5
  • Score Explanation — The reasoning behind the overall score
  • Strengths — 2–5 key strengths identified in the CV
  • Weaknesses — 2–5 areas of weakness
  • Red Flags — Any potential concerns (up to 3)
  • Summary — A 2–4 paragraph overview of the candidate’s profile
  • Per-Criterion Scores — Individual scores for each evaluation criterion, with reasoning and highlights

AI Interview

TalentUnveiled conducts automated interviews using AI voice agents — either via web (candidate books and joins in their browser) or phone (system calls the candidate directly). The mode is configured per job posting. Each application can have one interview, which covers technical, behavioral, role-specific, and culture-fit questions.
For a detailed walkthrough of how web and phone interviews work — including what happens for imported candidates and how no-shows are handled — see Interview Modes & Candidate Journeys.

Interview Statuses

What You’ll See

When an interview is complete, you’ll see:
  • Overall Score — An aggregate interview score from 0 to 5
  • Summary — A narrative summary of the interview
  • Strengths — 2–5 key strengths observed
  • Weaknesses — 2–5 areas of weakness
  • Red Flags — Any potential concerns
  • Full Transcript — The complete interview transcript
  • Tools & Skills — Tools and skills the candidate mentioned
  • Candidate Background — Background information shared by the candidate
  • Follow-Up Questions — Suggested questions for human interviewers
The interview also produces per-question scores and per-criteria scores with evidence, giving you granular insight into how the candidate performed on each dimension.

Combined Insights

After a CV evaluation, an interview, or both are complete, TalentUnveiled generates combined insights that synthesize all available data into a single assessment.

Scoring Weights

All scores use a consistent 0–5 scale across both CV and interview evaluation systems.

Hiring Recommendations

Based on the combined score, each insight includes a hiring recommendation:

The Insights tab on the application detail page shows:
  • Score Cards — CV Score, Interview Score, Overall Score, and Hiring Recommendation at a glance
  • Executive Summary — A narrative overview with Fit Score analysis
  • Strengths & Weaknesses — Key strengths and areas where the candidate falls short
  • Tools & Skills — Technical tools and skills identified
  • Areas for Development — Growth opportunities
