Pipeline Overview
Applications move through the following stages: Applied → Screened → Interviewed → Shortlisted → Hired / Rejected Not every application passes through every stage. Candidates can be rejected at any point, and some stages (like CV evaluation or AI interview) are optional depending on your job posting configuration. You’ll see these stages as columns in the Kanban board and as steps in the status stepper on each application’s detail page.Application Statuses
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Applied | Candidate has submitted their application |
| Screened | Pre-screening questions have been completed |
| Interviewed | AI interview has been completed |
| Shortlisted | Candidate has been shortlisted for further review |
| Hired | Candidate has been hired |
| Rejected | Candidate has been rejected |
Application Sources
Applications can enter the system through several channels:| Source | Description |
|---|---|
| Direct application | Candidate applied through a public job posting link |
| HR import | Imported by an HR team member via the portal |
| ATS sync | Synced from an external applicant tracking system |
| API | Created programmatically via the Company API |
| Admin | Created by a platform administrator |
Pre-Screening
When a job posting has screening questions configured, candidates answer them as part of the application process. Screening helps filter candidates early, before investing time in interviews.Question Types
| Type | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Yes / No | Simple yes or no question | ”Are you authorized to work in the US?” |
| Number | Numeric answer | ”How many years of experience do you have?” |
| Date | Date input | ”What is your earliest available start date?” |
| Free text | Open-ended answer | ”Describe your relevant experience” |
| Single choice | Select one option from a list | ”What is your preferred work location?” |
| Multiple choice | Select multiple options from a list | ”Which programming languages do you know?” |
Knockout Criteria
Each question can have knockout rules that automatically flag disqualifying answers. For example, a question like “Do you have a valid driver’s license?” can be configured to knock out candidates who answer “No.” You can set rules like “must equal Yes,” “must be greater than 3,” or “must not contain a specific value” — giving you flexible control over which answers are acceptable. After screening completes, you’ll see how many flagged answers a candidate has. If the count is zero, the candidate passed all screening criteria.CV Evaluation
When a candidate uploads a CV (resume), TalentUnveiled automatically extracts structured data and runs an AI-powered evaluation against the job’s criteria. How It Works
- Upload — A PDF is uploaded via the portal (or by the candidate during their application)
- Extraction — Text and structured fields (work experience, education, skills) are extracted automatically
- Evaluation — The CV is scored against your configured criteria on a 0–5 scale
What You’ll See
Once the evaluation completes, you’ll see:- Overall Score — An aggregate score from 0 to 5
- Score Explanation — The reasoning behind the overall score
- Strengths — 2–5 key strengths identified in the CV
- Weaknesses — 2–5 areas of weakness
- Red Flags — Any potential concerns (up to 3)
- Summary — A 2–4 paragraph overview of the candidate’s profile
- Per-Criterion Scores — Individual scores for each evaluation criterion, with reasoning and highlights
AI Interview
TalentUnveiled conducts automated interviews using AI voice agents — either via web (candidate books and joins in their browser) or phone (system calls the candidate directly). The mode is configured per job posting. Each application can have one interview, which covers technical, behavioral, role-specific, and culture-fit questions. For a detailed walkthrough of how web and phone interviews work — including what happens for imported candidates and how no-shows are handled — see Interview Modes & Candidate Journeys.
